The tournament was a rough going for the Highlanders overall and it began with a tough first round. Through weather conditions that felt more like mid-July than mid-September, the team shot 32-over. Caroline Gilreath was a guiding force through it, though, playing a team-best two-over with just two bogeys through the 18 holes.
In round two that same day, the Highlanders bounced back well and shaved 14 strokes off their team score. Radford's best showing came from Grace Addison at three-over as she tallied birdies on the third, fourth, ninth and 14th holes. Freshman Sophia Martin looked strong at four-over while Mary Elizabeth Harrison also bounced back with a much better five-over second round using three birdies over the 14th through 18th holes.
Back out on the course Tuesday afternoon to complete action with the third round, Gilreath was back to leading the squad at three-over in the round. Freshman Ellie Acrey would also improve her round score for a second straight time with her best showing of the weekend at five-over propelled by an eagle on the 18th hole.
