WILMINGTON, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team fell 4-2 to undefeated UNC Wilmington in a Sunday afternoon matchup. Abbie Zubrzycki scored her first collegiate goal in the final minute.

Head Coach Aaron McGuiness: "It started quite well, scoring in the first 6 minutes. Whether it's an overnight trip or whether it's a home game, our total 90 minutes has to be better. We scored and it almost looked like we backed off the gas and became too defensive. Something that we really have to look at and make sure we keep doing is to continue to play on the front foot instead of backing off and allowing opponents to have too much of the ball. Positive side, we didn't stop. That's evidence in scoring in the last minute, but still, it's not good enough."

The Panthers took the lead just six minutes into the game with a goal from Aubrey Bally. She scored off her right foot, slipping the ball into the top-right side of the goal. Bally was assisted by Sophia Redner, who was awarded a corner kick to set up the scoring opportunity.
The Seahawks answered with a goal from Allie Planeaux at the 10-minute mark. Rachel Fry followed with UNCW's second goal, bringing the score to 2-1 before the end of the first half.
In the second half, Abbie Zubrzycki scored her first collegiate goal for the Purple and White in the final 60 seconds of the match. Her shot from the top of the penalty box glided into the top center of the net to bring the final score to 4-2.
HPU recorded five total shots, and the two shots on goal resulted in points for the Panthers. Faye Battersby, Kyah Montano, and Gianna Rizzo recorded shots in the match while on the pitch.
Goalkeeper Nylah Mirashfiei played the full 90 minutes, making four saves while facing 12 total shots. One of her standout stops came on a one-handed save off a UNCW corner kick.
