The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Art Commission invites community members, partners, elected officials and media representatives to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Rupert Bell Park basketball court mural on Friday, October 23, at 10 a.m. at Rupert Bell Park, 1501 Mt. Zion Place, Winston-Salem, NC.
Funded through the Choice Neighborhood Revitalization Public Art Project in partnership with ASPIRE and the City of Winston-Salem, the mural transforms the park's basketball courts and adjoining pavilion into a vibrant space honoring Winston-Salem native and NBA star Chris Paul.
The mural was designed and painted by acclaimed artist Brian Peterson in collaboration with The Urbane Artist. Known for his bold, colorful style and community-centered work, Peterson created the artwork to reflect Paul's impact both on and off the court and his enduring connection to Winston-Salem.
