The program's application period will first open to residents ages 65 and older, beginning Wednesday, July 15, and will then expand to all eligible residents on Sunday, Aug. 16.
The program will be available to Guilford County homeowners earning up to 80% of the area median income. Income eligibility ranges from $53,200 for a one-person household to $100,350 for an eight-person household.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
Own and occupy the home as their primary residence in Guilford County.
Have owned the home for at least five consecutive years.
Be the person responsible for paying property taxes on the home.
Own a home valued at $250,000 or less for the 2025 tax year.
Have no outstanding liens, assessments, or delinquent taxes.
Have not received Guilford County tax assistance on the 2025 tax bill.
