STATESVILLE Muriel Kerley Travis, 83, of Statesville, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Autumn Care of Statesville. Born in Catawba County Aug. 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Foy and Katherine Smith Brittan. Mrs. Travis taught 3rd grade at Northview Elementary School and computers at Mitchell Community College. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting with watercolors and Friday night card games with the girls. Those left to cherish her memory are son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Marie Travis of Clemmons; two grandsons, Zachary and Gabriel Travis; uncle and aunt, Gary and Catherine Smith of Troutman; and cousin, Linda Littlejohn of Fort Mill, S.C. The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, Sunday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 825 Wesley Dr., Statesville, NC 28677. WINSTON-SALEM Jeff Martin Lineberry Jr., 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, while under the care of KB Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. Jeff was born Nov. 9, 1943, in Forsyth County, son to the late Jeff Martin Lineberry Sr. and Ella Hazel Steelman Gatewood. He attended and graduated from North West High School with the class of 1962. He served in the Army National Guard in High Point and Greensboro for six years and achieved the rank of Sgt. E-5. He later married Norma Anne Toussaint. Jeff was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Joe Eugene Lineberry; and his stepfather, Al Gatewood. He is survived by a large and loving family, including his wife of 41 years, Norma Anne Lineberry; sons, Brian M. Lineberry of Hiddenite, Brad M. Lineberry of Palm Beach, Fla.; daughters, Kimberly A. Reiner of Jupiter, Fla., Jennifer A. Lineberry of Hiddenite; brothers, David Lineberry (Lisa) of Walnut Cove, Stokes Gatewood (Jill) of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Cade and Laine Reiner, Makenda Joseph and Lily Lineberry; sister-in-law, Betty Lineberry; and stepmother, Colleen Lineberry of King. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mocksville. Visitation will be held at Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville, Monday, Oct. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.
STATESVILLE Ms. Anna Morrison, 90, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. A celebration of life service will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m., at Clark's Chapel Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church. Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary in Statesville is serving the Morrison family.
